Vacation with G and Ollie at the Beach!

This was a very big trip for little guy!  It was his first time at the beach house with Ollie and G without us.  Mom mentioned the idea of taking him to the beach with him for a week, and I was certain he would have a great time (not so certain he would sleep and they wouldn't be exhausted...ha!)

It was also nice because they left on a Tuesday and Anthony and I had plans to go down after work on Thursday night, so they really only had him for a couple of nights alone, but that also meant we had a couple of nights alone!  We used our free time to get some chores done around the house (exciting parent life), and went out to dinner BOTH nights - that never happens!

Nolan, of course, lived it up and had a wonderful time and did so amazing.  He slept much later than normal each day, and took great naps.  Yay!  He also ate like a horse which makes everyone happy.

Once we got down late Thursday night, we also had a great time.  The weather cooperated wonderfully for us, and we got to go to the beach each day.  We would get up, eat breakfast, head to the beach, and then come back for a nap.  I actually slept until 5:30 on Friday which is historical - and wonderful :)

This is the ferry docked that takes you to Ocracoke...

I only hounded mom 1,348 times to make sure he had on a hat and tons of sunscreen, and thankfully he left perfectly fine and not even pink!  He is a true water baby and just loved the beach and water any way he could get it.  He also possibly loved the Lunchables G packed for him in the cooler...

The beach is called Cedar Island, and it's about a 20 minute drive from the beach house.  It's SO worth it as it's a beautiful drive through the marshes and over this huge bridge to the island.  Plus, since the beach is on the inner waterway, there really aren't any waves and you can literally walk out 50 feet before it goes past your knees.  I was still afraid of sharks, but really the only problem were jellyfish!

It doesn't hurt that the seagulls are super entertaining...and friendly!

Stolen from Daddy's phone, but this one cracks me up!

We spent the rest of our downtime enjoying Nolan's new sprinkler at the house.  Well, mom and I watched as Ollie and Daddy played in the sprinkler with him...ha.  I just took pictures :)

My Little Artist...

I love when Nolan's teachers send me things that he does throughout the day.  Of course we get to take home the "tangible" work, but a lot of times they do cute things during the day that can't come home with us.  For instance, take Nolan's flower that he drew on the sidewalk the other day.  I honestly had to ask his teacher if HE drew that - she said he surely did!  She drew the idea inside, and then the kids had the chance with chalk during outside play time.  I was SO impressed!  My little artist...

I mean, you can TOTALLY tell this was supposed to be a flower!
