Superhero Basketball Game!

One of the best highlights of our January was winning tickets to the NCSU Basketball game this past weekend - it was Superhero Day, and I knew Nolan would love it!  It really was the best time, and he was so happy to be able to wear his costume out of the house.

We walked right in and got to see another Spider-Man - he was cool and pretty darn realistic looking!  The other superhero's were a little dorky :)  He also got his face painted, which completed his ensemble.

We stayed for almost the whole game - it was too bad we had to leave for naptime, because it was really a nail biter of a game, but Nolan needed a nap and we had a good drive home.  Overall, it was a super fun day and I think he had a really good time!

January 2018 - FIRST Snow Day!

It's amazing to already have TWO snow days to write about.  We never really get snow in January, much less two snow days!  We usually just get ice in late-February, so we were so excited to have lots of snow days so far this month!

The first snow was the week after New Years.  Our office opened, but with how the roads are way out where we live, we couldn't go anywhere.  We didn't mind - we had fun playing outside and doing some things around the house.

We still had to go back and forth with Nolan forever to get his gloves on, but it was brutally cold (like in the teens all day), so we couldn't let him go without them.  He finally obliged, and we made it outside for about 25 minutes before we were all frozen!

Best Buds!  And Nolan with no gloves on - ha!

We first attempted a snow man, but the snow wasn't cooperating with us, so we worked on a snow "alligator."  Daddy did a pretty good job of getting one formed before we all went inside.  That thing lasted for DAYS because it was so cold!

Mid-gator...

Nolan made a great snow angel - I didn't really know he knew what they were, but he made a great one!  After this, though, he decided to roll down the hill and got a face full of snow - that's when we went inside :)

Bad idea...
