Bubba's here!

The past few weeks have been a complete blur, and I wonder how people with multiple small children feel?!  We have had Jacob here since 4th of July weekend, and it has been so wonderful.  He is just the sweetest, smartest kid, and Nolan loves him to death.  It hasn't been quite the same without Lexie here, but she had some major acting training going on in CA and we couldn't get in the way of her and future fame :)

The weekends have been filled with out-of-town guests and traveling.  I feel like the weeks go by in a flash, and so do the weekends!  Over 4th of July weekend we had the Stewarts come visit us for a long weekend, and Jacob flew into town on Sunday night.  Anthony was so excited to see his long lost buddy, Doug, and the girls had grown so much!  Crazy to think we have known them since Alyssa was born...

First night tradition...sushi!  Don't worry - Anthony was excited even though he doesn't look it!

We spent the weekend with them hanging out, going to a pool party on Saturday, and then of course welcoming Jacob home on Sunday.  My mom kept Nolan Sunday night so we could have a late dinner with Jacob when he arrived, and it was so nice to hang out and not worry about waking the babe when we were shooting fireworks off at 11:30 at night :)  Thankfully, even though we had some insane fireworks from Georgia, no one called the cops on us!  Apparently, anything goes out here in the country!  At least we weren't shooting off our shotguns like other people.

Nolan just loves Jacob to death, and it has been so nice to have an extra set of hands around in the afternoons.  Jacob has even had the dishwasher unloaded for me each day when I got home, and I am ridiculously spoiled by that!  I know he enjoys having some quiet time here by himself too - no one to hog the TV remote but him!

Of course Bubba builds the best forts...

...and is happy to couch surf and watch cartoons :)

He is on the cross country and track team, so running is a big part of his life right now.  I am so impressed that he and Anthony BOTH have kept up with a great running regime the whole summer.  They will usually run at night which makes it a lot easier to bear the ridiculous heat we have right now.  Jacob is not used to the humidity, so it's quite difficult to get used to running in those conditions!  Luckily, our neighborhood is huge and they like running along the golf cart paths, so they have plenty of room to get in a good long run.

Jacob is such an amazing kid, and we are SO proud of him.  He has lots of big plans coming up for his 10th grade year (complete with inviting Lexie into the HS fold!), that I am sure he will do great things.

  1. I can't get over how much older Jacob looks this year. He is such a cute boy and growing into such a handsome young man! He and Lexie are both great kids. I miss seeing them during the summers.
