Christmas 2016: Part Three

We had too much fun to cram all of my pictures into one post, so this year Christmas deserves three posts!

After Church we came back home for some lobster/clam chowder and birthday cake (for me and Baby Jesus!)  We celebrated my birthday as well, which was nice.

Nolan was happy he got to blow out the candles.  He also ate the green foot :)

After we were all too stuffed to move, we headed into the living room so that Papa could continue his tradition of reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas."  You could tell Nolan had just eaten cake (because he could NOT sit still), but we still enjoyed hearing it anyway!  We even checked out the chimney to make sure it was all clear for Santa!

We stayed up late hoping it would give him time to calm down and maybe sleep past 5:00 a.m. :)  Instead of cookies, we figured we had plenty of birthday cake to go around, so this year Santa got cake.

The aftermath of the cake Christmas morning...still sprinkles every.where!

Thankfully, he didn't quite realize that all of his goodies from Santa were downstairs in the basement, so we were able to get up at a normal time and not the crack of dawn :)  He needed a quick power breakfast before opening all of his gifts and then it was time to rock and roll!

Santa hooked him up with a great table for crafting, lots of Super Hero costumes, some arts and crafts stuff and several new games.  He was THRILLED to finally have his own scissors, that he insisted on helping everyone else open their gifts :)  This included cutting each ribbon into a million pieces before you were allowed to open your gift - ha!

Intent at work...

Titi Paige thought it would be HILARIOUS to give Anthony a true megaphone.  Like his loud self needs one!  Nolan has thoroughly enjoyed and (and I have a constant ringing in my ears now!)

The aftermath...ha!

It was such a wonderful Christmas, and I am so glad we were able to have some fun and experience lots of joy in between missing our loved ones and praying for those that were hurting.  The Reason for the Season is truly where it's at :)
