To get some extra things done, I decided to take off last Friday and this past Monday. Early Friday morning I ventured to the Social Security Office to FINALLY change my name on my SS card and all that jazz. It started out pretty rough, by having to stand in line outside for around 20 minutes, but once I got inside, it only took about 10 minutes to get everything done. After that, I ran some errands and waited for my parents and Aunt Mo to get into town for the weekend. My stepdad, Tom (or "Ollie" now), put together the bookshelves for Puddin's room, and they are perfect! After having two 100-pound boxes sitting around for about a month, it was glorious to have them put together!
While we left him to do that, the three of us girls did the grocery shopping for the shower before the rest of the family arrived. Anthony's older brother (Angel) and his son, plus Anthony's youngest brother's wife (Sammi) both came into town with their kids. It was a lively household all weekend, that is for sure - but so much fun! It's awesome to see them when we can, and who wouldn't want all those adorable Maldonado kids running around the house!?
Friday night we hung out at the clubhouse and prepped for the shower and cooked spaghetti for everyone. I actually fell down the steps by the pool, but luckily caught myself on my knees! It was a bit of a shock for a second, but everything was fine and little man was moving like crazy so thankfully we were okay.
Saturday was a beautiful day, which is saying a lot given the wet weather we have had here so much lately! I will detail the shower in a separate post, but it was wonderful.
The rest of the weekend we spent stocking up on the last of the things we need for baby, and then took Anthony to Marietta Fish Market for a late birthday celebration. I am SURE I will see some action on the scales at my appointment this week, because I have eaten everything in sight this past week! The hushpuppies there were to die for. I think I could eat junk food everyday if I let myself!
Sadly, my family had to leave early Monday, and I had one appointment to interview a pediatrician scheduled for that day. I really liked them, so at least we know where we will be taking Puddin' during his first week at home!
Overall, it was a very tiring but exciting and productive week/weekend. We are slowly getting more and more ready for this little man to enter this world! Not for at least another 4 weeks, at least, I hope :)
P (Pounds gained/lost) - After all the cake squares from the shower I ate, I am sure I have gained some :)
R (Really missing) - The occasional cold beer and Dr. Pepper.
E (Eating this) - Everything - ha.
G (Gotta … ) - Get all of my maternity leave paperwork figured out, and general organization of everything so that when I am out on leave I will have everything I need at home.
N (Not gonna lie) - Rolling over and getting out of bed is becoming harder and harder each night :) Luckily, I don't think I wake Anthony up with my grunting yet!
A (About Puddin’) - Puddin' should be measuring about 17 inches long now, and weigh a little over 4 pounds. He is about the size of a pineapple, according to what I have read. All of his bones (except for the ones in his skull) are hardening, and he is continuing to fatten up. It seems as though his main mission the new few weeks is to just gain weight and continue developing a couple more body functions. Keep on growing, baby!
N (Never forget this) - My wonderful shower and just feeling so much love and support from friends and family. We are so blessed!
