Mommy/Son Weekends

August has pretty much been insane for us this year.  Not that last year wasn't intense with my surgery and Titi Britny being in the hospital, but we have faced some other tough trials recently that have caused us to be separated over several weekends in order to cover all of our family that needed us.

While the reasons for our separations weren't always fun, Nolan and I have made the most of it and have had some fun momm/son weekends!  We have basically toodled around, done some shopping (NOT Nolan's fave), and had some sweet dinners together.

We went to Home Depot the other weekend for a couple of things that we needed, and just so happened to go in when they were doing the builder's workshop for kids.  We busted out our tools and got the football goal post knocked out in no time :)

And he only hit my fingers with the hammer a few times - ha!

Shopping at Michael's later on that day...

So I have to explain the above picture - ha!  We were about to go back to school shoe shopping, but we needed a little snack beforehand.  We stopped at a gas station and I finally found a healthy snack that he could eat - some kind of date/brownie bar.  I almost lost it when I went to get him out of the car and saw his teeth - haha!  He looked like I had never brushed his teeth before!  I guess the dates and almonds got caught in his teeth so I was having him drink water and was even "brushing" his teeth with a napkin to try and get it to go away!  He didn't really get why I thought it was so funny but I took a picture anyway :)

Having fun in Target...

Overall, even though times have been a bit challenging lately, it was a sweet weekend with my boy that thankfully allowed me to laugh a lot and find some fun in the the little things.  Man, I love my babe.
