Easter 2015 (Part 2)

We had a nice Easter this year, especially since my Dad was recovering so well from surgery and we got to visit with them.  We drove up Friday morning around Nolan's nap time, and he slept the majority of the way there.  We made it in time for playtime and lunch on the driveway, where Nolan promptly got his first skinned knee :)  I guess this is what being a boy is all about, but oh I hate seeing my baby all skinned up!

Papa was hobbling around and cooked a super yummy dinner for us all on Friday night that we enjoyed with our good family friends.  My meal was a bit of a blur since Nolan was ready to go to bed NOW, but I still enjoyed it!  We had prime rib, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, cucumbers, and apple cake for dessert.

It wouldn't take in the photos, but my dad makes a "flaming" sauce that he pours over the beef.  It's really cool, and flames blue until it burns out - so fancy :)

The weather was beautiful all weekend, and Nolan had a great time outside.  He loves being outside, and up until it finally got warm, would insist on putting a jacket on before going out :)

We spent Saturday at the park (which I will detail in another post because we had so much fun and got too many good pictures).

Easter Sunday we took it easy getting up, and let Nolan see all of this Easter goodies.  It was pretty much Christmas in April!

Bubbles are a HUGE hit with Nolan, so he got lots of bubble "makers" plus some great puzzles, a remote control car (which, let's be honest, was more for Daddy!) and a Nerf gun.  His aunt and uncle sure know how to buy kid-friendly things :):)

After breakfast (monkey bread, eggs, and bacon), it was time for an actual Easter Egg Hunt that Nolan could participate in!  I honestly had no idea how we would do, since we missed the other one last weekend, and we had never shown him what to do.  But wouldn't you know, we gave him his basket, and showed him the first egg, and he stuffed it right into his basket and moved on to the next one!

Nani made sure to fill his eggs with Cheerios :)  He was very happy about that!

After he got all of this eggs, it was time to pack up and head back home.  Planning our drive around his nap time is the best thing - he slept the entire car ride home, and was ready to go when we got there!  We spent the rest of our Easter unpacking, doing laundry and going to the grocery store.  So thankful for the wonderful spirit and meaning of Easter, and that my Dad is recovering and doing amazing.  Thank the Lord for everything!
