Just Me and My Little Man...

Anthony took Jacob and Lexie on a road trip this past weekend to Atlanta, so it was just me and my little man all weekend long!  I take that back: Ollie and G were HUGE helps this weekend, but otherwise it was me and Nolan :)

Anthony and the kids left on Friday morning, so I picked Nolan up from school and G and I played with him and got him tucked into bed.  The nighttime routine is sometimes the hardest to do alone, so I was thankful for the help! My mom and I hung out after and ate frozen pizzas.  It was so nice to have some company, but I passed out around 9:30 (we had an early morning the next day!)

I think this is his "smile" face... :)

In perfect timing, I won 3 tickets to go see "Sesame Street Live" on Saturday morning!  I was so excited, but also a bit hesitant just because I wasn't sure how Nolan would react.  He wasn't a huge fan of Spiderman from a party he went to over Memorial Day, so putting him around HUGE stuffed animals was a bit of a stretch!  However, he did SO good, and loved it!  He sat on our laps and clapped and was just mesmerized.  Towards the beginning of the second part he wanted to get down, so Mom and I put him down in the space between us and he just danced and danced.  We didn't make it through the whole show, just because he was getting hungry and it was close to naptime, but I was SO happy that he had a great time.  We had the best seats and VIP parking, so it wasn't too painful for the adults either :)

We had a great parking spot, and even better seats inside!

Boy, did he dance and smile!

After the show, we headed home and I prayed Nolan would nap (even though it was WAY past his nap time).  I was so tired, and knew we needed some rest to get ready for the pool party we had on the agenda that evening!  Well, Nolan didn't go to sleep when I put him in his crib, and ended up crying for like 20 minutes.  I hated to hear it, so I went and got him and miraculously he slept curled up on me for an hour and 45 minutes!  We have not cuddled and slept together in ages, and it was oh so sweet.

I scrambled to get us both dressed afterwards for Mr. Henry's birthday party, and we met Ollie and G at Mr. Henry's house.  They have an awesome set up with a pool and huge yard and double-decker deck, so we had a blast!  Nolan enjoyed his time in the pool (even though it was freezing), and was of course fearless.  We had some great food, and Nolan thorough enjoyed taking big bites of his chicken leg.  It was the cutest thing ever, especially since he hadn't been eating that much recently.

We headed home not long after we ate and I got him all scrubbed down and tucked into bed.  I only had enough energy to do the dishes and bathe myself, and it was lights out!

My mom helped with Nolan Sunday morning so I could do my weekly food prep, and then it was nap time :)  Nolan took a great nap on Sunday, and I did too!  We ended our perfect weekend with dinner over at Ollie and G's (where Nolan got a new slide and outdoor chair).

Usually, to be honest, it's daunting to think of having him all to myself for extended periods of time.  Not that he is difficult, but rather, it's a lot to handle what with a busy toddler and trying to maintain a house and work.  But this weekend was wonderful.  I enjoyed all of our time, and had some precious sweet cuddle time and moments with just me and him.  And that's the most important part.  Besides, as soon as Daddy gets back home, it's back to second fiddle for me - ha! :)

I love you my sweet boy!
