Nolan Turns Three! (Part 1)

I would probably crash my computer if I posted all of the pictures I want to share in one post, so this birthday "recap" will have to take place in a few installments :)

Nolan's actual birthday fell on a Monday this year (boo), so we planned to have his party the weekend afterwards.  Nothing extravagant this year, just immediate family (and our neighbors because they are like family!)

After most of our plans for his birthday weekend were cancelled because of Hurricane Matthew, we still had a good time celebrating his birthday on Sunday will Ollie and G.  We set up a little gift for him downstairs and put up some Paw Patrol decorations around the downstairs and his bathroom so he would see them when he woke up.  I actually had a picture of him opening his present, but he opened it so fast it was a literal white blur of tissue paper!

He promptly took this off of the table and put it on his head like a hat :)

I made a big batch of lasagna and we had salad, bread and snickerdoodle cupcakes for dessert.  I had initially planned to make all of this the night before, but we didn't have power the whole night :)  Nolan acts like he is surprised that I was letting him have a cupcake on a weeknight...

...but what he didn't know was that his daycare was closed the next day because of the storm, so he got to stay up late and enjoy his sugar high like us adults!  Thankfully (in my mind), he didn't eat the whole thing.  He doesn't need the extra energy!

No pants, no undies, and a mischievous look...watch out!

It was a pretty lowkey day, but I know he had tons of fun!  I was particularly excited to know that I didn't have to work the next day either!
