Nolan Turns Three! (Part 3)

Maybe I can finish this up in three posts, but I am not making any promises :)  The table in the dining room held the rest of the snack food and the cake.  Oh the cake!  The bakery in Clayton that has done his cakes for all three birthday parties is just the best.  The cakes keep getting better and better each year, although this year we tried to scale back the size some - ha.

I found a picture online that I thought was so cute, and left it up to them to recreate.  It tasted even better than it looked, too!

Aside from the chili bar, we just had some light snacks for everyone.  Colored goldfish served as "Rainbow Trout," Teddy Grahams served as "Don't feed the bears," pretzel rods were "Sticks" and then we had Fritos because you have to have Fritos with chili!

I like how the table turned out, but it was a little odd to have faux Christmas trees out in October :)  My favorite decoration was the deer head complete with a little banner I made from different papers.  Notice the beard still makes an appearance!

We spent the majority of the party outside in the beautiful weather, until it was time for the "big reveal."  Nani, Papa, Paige and Cade went in together to get Nolan an awesome F-150 Power Wheels truck, and we had been keeping it hidden in the garage until later in the party.  Basically, we knew that he wouldn't pay anyone else an ounce of attention once he saw it, so we at least wanted him to be involved in the party somewhat until then :)

Yeah, it's totally nicer than my car, and even has a working tailgate AND radio!  Amazing.

He was off to the races as soon as he saw it, and surprisingly did really well with it!  He had driven our neighbor's Jeep as often as he could, so he had the basic idea down.  Within a couple of hours, he was a pro!  Daddy was even sweet enough to get the trunk set up with a cooler full of juice drinks and ice :)

Mommy and Daddy love you SO MUCH, little man!
