A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

It's no surprise that October (or Fall) is my favorite time of year.  I love the weather, the food, and everything that goes along with it!  Dare I say it, I even like fall décor better than Christmas decorations!

I decided that we needed to take Nolan out for some Fall fun this weekend, and Googled for some pumpkin patch farms around Raleigh.  I found one, Hill Ridge Farms, about a 45-minute drive from home.  We timed it so that Nolan would take his morning nap on the way there, and arrived a little before noon.  It was beautiful, and crowded, but not too bad!  The place was planned perfectly for families and kids.  Nolan was a bit too small to really do anything, but he had a great time staring and people-watching.

We saw goats, rabbits, ponies, racing pigs, and lots of pumpkins.  I didn't partake in the fair-type food as much as I would have liked, but I did have a yummy bite of Anthony's roasted ear of corn.  Nolan was happy to munch on his puffs :)

We strolled around and took Nolan on the slide and through the tunnel.  Poor Anthony and his back - Nolan didn't want to crawl through the tunnel, but chose to "walk" instead!  It took him a while, but he made it all the way through!

He looks so impressed with himself! :)

I thought the best part of the day was the hayride.  If you went during the Fall Festival, your ticket included a hayride and a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch!  This was a good way for us to start our pumpkin cache this year :)

It was absolutely gorgeous weather, and I had high hopes of getting the super cute "pumpkin patch" photo, but Nolan was having nothing of it!  He was too interested in crawling around all of the pumpkins rather than taking pictures!  Above is about as good as we got - ha!

Overall, it was a beautiful Fall day, and I look forward to all of the years to come where we can take Nolan to places like this and watch him run wild!
