From our first weekly picture/post until now, I have written about so much joy, fun, and life that I am so happy I did them. And while some posts reflect on the many ups and downs we have gone through this year, I will forever look back at them and remember - I will remember that we are so fortunate in every aspect of our lives. The trials taught us and made us stronger, and the joys built us up and made us closer to one another.
Nolan had a great week, and even got a little bit of a taste of cow's milk this week! Unfortunately, I just fell short a few ounces by Wednesday, and had to introduce some cow's milk into Nolan's bottles (TWO days short of his birthday, but who's counting, right?!) I still maintain a year ;) I think he did just fine with it, but there was also a hint of a stomach bug going around his classroom again, so we had some pretty gross mornings/evenings :) He loves the taste though, so I don't think transitioning him will be too hard.
We also discovered that he will eat some finger foods - as long as they are unhealthy! Doh! I have tried SO hard to only feed him healthy foods, because I am a total junky food fan, and I want to give him the best start possible. It doesn't help that my mom and Grandma started me with Krispy Kreme and Biscuitville every morning when I was younger :) It's no wonder with me, but I hope that Nolan will have some better eating habits that me at least. Anyway, he had no problem eating a couple small bites of a cinnamon roll Sunday morning. Hey, I can't blame him - they are good!
Mom, why do you have to take my picture at daycare?!
N = (Now weighs) No clue. He still fits perfectly into 9 month clothes, so I am guessing not a whole lot (maybe 22 pounds?)
O = (Oomph!) First birthdays are SO exciting, and SO sad at the same time. Bittersweet comes to mind...
L = (Loves) People watching. I don't think he would have cared if he was held all day long at the pumpkin patch and just watched the people and the animals. My mom also said that he sat with her on the couch on Saturday night and watched football and ate puffs with her for almost an hour. So I guess he loves football too?!
A = (About this week) He is SUPER quick, but still hasn't managed to walk on his own just yet. He is getting better about walking when we hold his hands, and I keep trying to get him to walk with only holding onto one hand, but we aren't quite there yet. He eats with his left and right hand, so no idea which one he will be yet - Ollie is rooting for left-handed :)
N = (Not a fan of) Long sleeves! It was really funny when I dressed him in a long sleeve shirt the other day. He hadn't had long sleeves on since he was a baby, and he was like, "what the heck are these things?!" He pulled at them for quite some time, tried to eat them, and eventually gave in :)
