I was looking forward to my LAST weekly appointment this week! I won't have to go to my appointment that was originally scheduled for next week, because Puddin' will be here by then!
And, I was glad to have my appointment with a nurse practitioner that has been doing this for a long time and that is very easy to talk to. I still had some reservations/anxiety about Puddin's position and my surgery, and she helped ease my mind a lot. She told me that most people think breech babies are smarter because they realize it's silly to spend 9 months upside down on your head :)
She also eased my fears about Puddin's health and chances of having any problems from his position or his birth, which of course I had Googled and scared myself to death with. I am now a bit more at ease with having to have such strong painkillers after my surgery (which is something I was very nervous about since I don't like painkillers at all and very rarely take any kind of medicine, let alone narcotics!)
As far as appointments go, it was pretty uneventful. I was actually having a contraction when she told me to lie back to check my measurements and listen to Puddin's heartbeat, so that was interesting. She felt around and told me she couldn't for the life of her figure out what body part was what on Puddin', but that she was sure he was not head down - what kind of position is this little monkey in?! It feels to me like he is in a ball right in the middle of my stomach - with hands and feet up. But then again, what do I know :)
And now, our last round of stats!
For me:
Weight gained: Gained 1 pound, so I guess my total tally will be 14 (I am not going to bother counting next week!)
Blood Pressure: 110/80
Fundal height: I was at 37 again this week, but I think that had something to do with having a contraction right then - my stomach was all pinched in!
For Puddin':
Heartbeat: 160's and loud and clear.
