It was quite the adventure getting out of the house, and I don't know why I didn't add on an extra hour to what I thought it would take to get ready - lesson learned! :) I didn't get a shower, but was able to put part of my face on and wash my hair (didn't get it dried though - and this is just the beginning - haha!)
Nolan did great, and I only had to feed him twice while there - the kid loves to eat, what can I say.
They weighed him and measured his length, and then the doctor came in to tell us some things to expect with a newborn and what we should be doing. She answered all of our questions, and told us some things that I didn't know (like that he would shed an entire layer of skin in his first few weeks).
I really liked the doctor that we met with, even though she was not the one that I interviewed at the practice a few months back. She was so sweet and very informative, and I really felt comfortable with her. He didn't need any shots thank goodness, but will need them when he goes back at one month old.
Some stats:
Weight: 6 lbs., 2 ozs. (This is still 4 oz. down from his birth weight, but he gained weight since we left the hospital, so we are heading in the right direction).
Length: 19 inches (The hospital had him at 19 and 3/4 inches, so we will go with the hospital. He can't possibly be shrinking!)
Head circumference: 14 inches (The hospital didn't measure this, so I was curious. He has a bit of a football dome from where he was lodged in my ribs, but the doctor said he was good and that his head will shape out nicely as he gets older).
In the car on the way!
One tired Momma!
